Have any of you ever hosted a tea party? How did it go? What kind of tea and food did you serve? Was there a theme?

Yes about 2 years ago, I done the mad hatters tea party, from Alice in wonderland , and they had to wear fancy dress, it was such a laugh, we had so much fun. The food was sandwiches, fairy cakes, jelly and icecream, everything fun, I even made a tesapot cake and cup for the center of the table.

I hosted a tea party. Everyone had to wear fancy hats and speak with bad accents. they were also required to drink with their pinkies up, to show how classy they were. it was spectacular. . . but mostly because I served booze and I'm pretty bossy so everyone knew what they were getting into.

I have attended a fundraising tea party for my chorale that I used to sing with; a few choice of teas, the sandwiches mentioned...including fresh strawberries and clotted cream, egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad (with pickled watermelon rind) sandwiches and misc. sweets and cookies.
I was part of the entertainment (several years) and we provided 1940's war love songs, Gilbert and Sullivan; the Mikado and "favorite love songs" .
We had a harpist that created wonderful ambiance.Like (2)

I did. The Mad Hatter and the March Hare showed up and we had to put jam on the Door-mouse's nose to calm him down. It was also my un-birthday.

Yes. I was five. All the stuffed animals and dolls attended and they were well behaved. We had invisible tea even though I did not yet know what it actually tasted like. And cake. Real cake. The guests were gracious and even let me eat their food. I threw the dishes in a box when I was done and threw the guests out when I got bored of them....it really was a great party.

Plainly tea - sandwiches, cucumber, cut off the crusts and in to quarters (four per slice), cream tea (scone, plus whipped cream, plus raspberry jam), :-)
