Seriously a bad idea, the body can shut down, being in the medical field myself, I have had patients that have starved themselves to death. If you want to loose weight try weight watchers. You don't have to join, but follow the principles. I developed sepsis 5 times over the last 2 years, each time not being able to eat for weeks. I have not regained the energy to this day. The body will protect you, and you will not loose weight. It's better to follow a sensible diet, and include vitamins.

Actually I have the opposite problem. People always encourage me to eat more than I want to. I seem to find eating to be a bit of a boring and irritating schlep. I don't think I have Anorexia or anything but I only like to eat when my stomach screams for food. My whole life I have needed to put on weight rather than lose it. And yes, I know, you hate me because of that. I've heard it many times. :-)

I used to starve myself regularly, and yes, I lost a lot of weight. But I was also miserable, anemic, fainted almost every day, sickly, and tired ALL the time. It's not something I would recommend, ever. I'll never do that again, I'd rather be fat.

I was sick for a month twice now.
The first about 5 years ago. I was ill and could not tolerate food after 3 days. I lost a lot. I do not believe in weighing. But it took a long time to recover strength. After 4 days, I no longer felt the need for food.
Recently, late last year, I was ill again. I lost more...I never regained it.
And I continue to lose....I must force myself at times to eat especially when it is humid....It is a struggle...
Do not starve yourself purposely. It takes a toll on your body. Get help if you need to starve. You need help.

Yes, 12 pounds. I'm not promoting this idea AT ALL!!! I lived on water, multivitamins, and at times rice and worked out an hour a day. VERY BAD.

i think youd lose more weight by eating several small meals over the course of the day, and drinking plenty of water.... when u starve yourself your body flips out and changes your metabolism... plus its just not healthy.
