Have you been to an expensive restaurant and become ill over something you ate?

yeah - i got whacked by a 28euro bowl of tamarind soup in st barts this winter......think they neglected to refrigerate the fruit and LIED about it being 'fresh'

it doesn't matter how how many stars a restaurant has, if the food is not held at the proper temperatures (hot food hot, cold food cold), is cross contaminated, handled incorrectly, or not cooked to temperature- you can get sick. bacteria is able to breed in so many environments, the posh factor has no iffluence over it.

on that note, food poisoning is something that will occur in 30 minutes or so of you eating if it is really bad, but usually with in no more than 2. so many people think that they have food poisoning, when it is really a bug or virus.
word to all- if you have contracted food poisoning- please call the restaurant and tell them. :)

Yes, usually the more expensive, the more sick.

I ate to much, and it was really rich. Tums, and Zantac fixed it.

Yes, I recently ate at Kabuki and i was really sick. It was good but im never eating there again.

I can't afford to go to an expensive restaurant (wow! Now I know how to spell that!) but I think I may have eaten at the same taco bell as lizardking.

i ate at a BBQ restaurant in Baton Rouge. i was fine until i finished my water, and found cockroach legs on the bottom of my glass. i barfed on the way out.
