yes, I've been to the 4 main islands several times. Each has it's own charms. I always visit Oahu each trip as I still like a little bit of big city time on my vacations.

I grew up on Maui, but wouldn't want to go back. Too much change, too much commercialism now. It's completely different now from twenty five years ago.

I loved it. We stayed at a hotel within walking distance of Waikiki Beach and stayed on the one island. The weather was beautiful although there was a brief shower every day. If I were to live there, I would prefer a more rural area as where we stayed everything was commercialized for tourists. We took a tour around the island perimeter and it was really nice. As for living there, I could definitely do it but the cost of living is very high there. And if you have kids they will face discrimination in school.

I would love to visit and bring home some orchid plants.

I haven't but I would like to. I like skiing in unusual places and Hawaii is probably the only tropical island where skiing is possible.
