Chatting with my very best friend here at EP is therapeutic. We talk daily and have been doing so for almost two months.

I had therapy as a child and then again for a couple years as an adult but it never did much for me.

Yes, I think more people should go. A good therapist will use multiple modalities. I've made use of CBT, psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, dialectical, gestalt, group, and more. It all depends on what your goal is. You also have to be motivated and prepared because sometimes in the short term as your working through something it will hurt more.
There are lots of good therapists and lots of bad ones.
Therapy has helped me understand myself and how I interact with the world.

i used to go one a week and went for about 2 years, its really worth it if your thinking about it, but it takes atleast 1 month to really feel a difference and get used to talking about yourself

    Yes.

Several kinds, a few different times, once for a year and a half, once for a year, the other ones for shorter periods of times.

Some were a waste of money, some were helpful.

A couple of times. I started going to a pediatric therapist for anxiety when I was 17 and he was ok, but I was forced to switch when i turned 18. Went to one session and didn't return because the new therapist made me anxious lol.

Went again last year for career counselling - again, only one session but it helped a lot. I was pretty much having a breakdown over my employment status and the therapist really helped me to focus and rethink my options whereas my friends and family were either shrugging their shoulders at me or giving me split advice.

Yup. Once. I didn't need it. It was a way to get back into school. The ***** didn't help me at all since I knew everything that she said.

I even cried for good measure...it didn't work.
