Have you ever been some1s hero?

There was this elderly lady that came in to order some food. She couldn't read the menu so she looked for her glasses in her purse. While she was doing this, three teenage guys came in. They were very rude to her because it was taking her a while to find her glasses. They were cursing at her & calling her names.

I told those punks to leave or they were gonna be in trouble...with me! They ended up leaving...but the damage was done. The lady was so hurt & humiliated by what they said to her, that she started crying. I came from behind the counter, gave her a hug & told her that everything was going to be ok.

I took her order after that & gave her her food free of charge.

Those guys were so rude to her! I was in a foul mood for the rest of the day afterwards.

All I could think about was my grandmother & those same punks dis-respecting her like that. They were so lucky that I didn't put my hands on them. I would have made them pay for their ignorance!

A boy I knew at Children's Hospital in Denver, CO when I was a volunteer there during my college days told me that I was his hero because I was always nice to everyone I met and made him and the other kids at the hospital laugh. I damn near broke down and cried right there and I did feel prouder at that moment than any other time in my life up to that point.

I was told I am "an inspiration" by one young EPeep. That felt awesome. :)

Someone wrote a song about it, too.

Goes sommat like, "Did you ever know that your my heeeerrooo? Blah blah blahbity blah blah, you are the wind be-neath my wiiiinnngggss."
