Have you ever been to a really fancy restaurant?

One where it was required to be dressed up?

What was the experience like?

I suppose dress was required, we all were dressed up already. I had Beef Wellington, about the size of a meatball for $50. No bread, no salad, no carb, no veggie! No way would I go there again, we went to Burger King afterwards to complete the tease of being fed!

a few times. Hey why not just go to a drive in joint and enjoy something normal with normal people.

I don't care for restaurants with dress codes. You're only paying to feel pretentious for one night. The food rarely lives up to the price tag.

I have lived in Chicago IL, and Fort Myers, FL, and now I'm in the Quad Cities which have some world class restaurants. I make it a point to attend fancy resaurants once a month for the cuisine and the experience. I love it, it gives me a chance to work on my etiquette and try and expand my experiences. I have made some social mistakes but overall I am a better person for it. I really enjoy taking women to nice restaurants, dancing, and things of that sort. It is important to research as much as you can to fully apprieciate the experience. I hope this helps. Save up your money and take the plunge, see how well you do.
