As a business owner I have patients and customers try to bully all the time, when they don't like the answer they get abusive, threatening and nasty. They honestly don't see it as bullying and it really angers me when they do it with their children watching, Nice example they set for their children! Yes we all get upset at times but when you turn it on another person and try it intimidate or harass them, it's BULLYING. I don't and won't put up with it, most of the time I can diffuse the situation but when I have things thrown at me I draw the line!
I stood up to bullies as a kid and I still do it now as an adult, my own daughter was bullied because she developed earlier than her female classmates, after the school refused to deal with it, I pulled her out and she's home schooled since then. That was 3 years ago and now FINALLY the school is acknowledging the bullying problem is BAD!
Even us as adults need to take a strong look at our behavior especially if we have children, we need to set a positive example for our kids. Bullying is harmful and carries lasting pain and memories!

I was bullied pretty badly as a child and teenager. I was very socially awkward and immature for my age and into the nerdly pursuits. So I was a computer guy before anyone really had computers and that was coupled with poor social skills, below average hygiene, giant glasses... I was kind of a charicature now that I think of it!

As for the bullying, typical stuff I guess? The core of it is that I was treated like someone who is second-class, excluded from things, and treated with contempt. Pushed around a lot but never really hurt. Lots of name calling, singling out in a crowd, that sort of thing. It got better as I got older and I'm pretty at peace with it now.

In Junior High School. Here it is 30 years later the guy that picked on send me a message asking me to forgive him and that he was sorry for making me cry during our childhood.
I actually had forgot all about him until I read his message.
My reply was " Is this part of your Ten Step Program?" I felt almost ashamed for the way I reacted, but then I realized just how much one bully can effect you for the rest of your life no matter how big or small.
I probably should have said "Thank you." But I didn't.

i used to make fun of a lot of people in high school and got made fun of a lot. One that sticks out with me: was in cooking class with me and a friend and this big dude with red hair. Name was paul now that i look back. I said, hey paul, your a homosapien. "**** you, no im not". yes paul your a homosapien. after about 4 **** yous, he screams at the top of his lungs and go running out the door of the classroom and the whole class just stops and is like what happened? im like ... i just called him a homosapien? >:)
The teacher sighs and walks out after him, and everyone laughed. I think its the only bullying i did in school that i don't feel sorry for now, it was just too funny the way it happened.

Today is memorial day, I was tormented for over 40 years. I started working that long ago, when I started working I went to work in a union shop, I thought that the more time I accrued, The more I learned the more I would be able to control my life, What shift, job, and would not get the overtime work the holidays and one day get the vacation slots I wanted.

In 1979 I saw the writing on the wall, and went into the military a week before a multi year layoff, according to the contract my time continued to accrue while I was under orders, I had already served in the army before I hired in. This time I tried the navy.

I was at my A school when I met and married a very pretty woman who d just moved in the area. I arrived at my A school July 30th 1979 one day after completing basic submarine school.

I met my future wife two months later a friend asked me to take her to church in his stead because his wife was coming in that day, I thought my wife was his wife until that day, I talked to her about that impression and she said she did not know he was married either but they had never been intimate. In 1981 I graduated C school, I was getting married the next day So I turn in my room assignment put sea bag up for storage until I signed out Monday, And had a fantastic wedding and reception the next day. We arrived were we were going to spend our wedding night just to be met by shore patrol, They had my sea bag and an orders packet, told me they signed me out because I had to catch the COD to my next duty station in one hour. I took my new wife home left my truck, and went with them, due to the needs of the navy I was either out at sea or at schools in other areas of the nation, I discharged three and a half years later. I had never seen the apartment my wife lived in while she was there but was handed a key to a storage shed and went to moving office to have the things my wife had bought for the apartment.

It took two days to get everything done, packed and moved. I was going to fly back home but was put on standby for the next week so I rented a horizon and drove back for 17 hours straight. I arrived back at my parents house with 7000.00 and an intention to take a few weeks with my wife whom I had not seen in three and a half years.

I was met by my mother, she pointed at the sofa and said you can sleep there. The door to my wife's room was locked, and I was tired anyway.

two hours later my father was yanking me out, I said what about a little sleep. He said I had to be at HR in 45 minutes no time for sleep. I told him I was not going back for a few weeks. I did not have to by contract. He actually got a ba<x>seball bat out and started screaming be a man and get your rear back to work. I said what about seeing my wife he said forget her for now. I went as threatened. I was put on 2nd shift 12 hours per day that evening after hours of paper work.

Because I was trying to be the person every one wanted I was stuck on those hours for the next 16 years. Until July 31 2001. I had a surgery that relieved hydrocephalus. In September 1987 I had tried to divorce my wife because marital relations were being used s the sword of Damicleas t keep me from bumping shifts, taking other jobs, or in general keep me under thumb. I was denied because the state did not want to take on the expense of a bi polar.

I continued to hope I was threatened, cussed at, physiclly attacked, And screamed into doing what others wanted, I was placed on a violent offenders watch list after I defended my self from a beating by four men one morning for forcing the union to take my job bid.

The average number of days I had off for the 31 years I worked for this company. My average number of days off was figured at less than one every four years. And my average daily hours were 13.2.

I went straight to another company after retirement. I was getting weekends and an occasional day off but still had to work holidays. Two years after starting this job I developed MRSA in my spine, it left me without feeling in my legs, I have been in and out of hospitals, For the last four years. This is the first holiday I have had a chance to be home in 39 years.

My wife and father planed a cookout on my covered porch in three more hours, I wasn't supposed to be told, and was to be gotten out of my house on a pretext that I needed to be up north. I don't know what that was. My father said to my wife I have guests coming that really don't like my son.
He said we have built traditions that don't include him. I said that I am staying, My food, my house, my equipment,

My mother and wife said things are setting up for trouble today and begged me what can be done to mitigate what I want. My wife said one of the traditions was drinks after wards in town and she was going to escort another dinner guest, I said well that tradition is now moot.

My father has tried three times to get metro police have me placed in custody, He says for the protection off his guests. Metro refused.

My father came over this morning, said I will give you two hundred dollars to leave, I said and the food and other expenses need to be paid, a little over 400.00 he said well your wife will be here eating, She found out the only person she will be with today as an escort is me.

My father said you realize how long we have done this without you. I sad because you screamed me into it every year and even threatened me every year, I said last year I declared my independence and you can GO TO HELL. I en turned to my wife and said are you going to buck my decision, She said please consider who is coming these are long time friends and some really hate you, frankly I don't care.

Does his board think I am being a jerk. Have I become the bully because I wont accept the consensus in my own home.

I admit there will be some turn and leave when they find me here. Again I don't care, told my wife if she did not like things to pick a direction on the street and start walking. I will not accept others telling me that I cannot eat the food bought, the use of my home, my wife on my arm. I owe no one that right.

What do you this board think?

Yes I've been bullied. I've been bullied for years now (although only just realizing I was being bullied in 4th grade). I've been insulted repeatedly. Called a *****, a dumbass, an idiot, freak, friendless, worthless, fat, stupid, a piece of ****, and multiple other things. I get mocked often for the deep voice I have when I yell or for how I sometimes sound country when I speak.
