I feel that if I tell you, it won't be selfless anymore

I agree there is such a thing as a selfless good deed. Another name for them is anonymous favours. I don't feel that getting a good feeling from a good deed makes it at all selfish. That good feeling is a by product of doing something that fulfills your potential as a human being, that good feeling is your higher nature or your soul or the holy spirit inside you, whatever feeling connected to you and God through that good deed. It wasn't your motivation for doing it. Sincerity is something you have to be sincere about being, coz how can you measure it?
I pick up litter and hold it until I find the nearest bin, if I'm round someones house after they've fallen asleep and theres ashtrays, take away debris and all manner of cleaning to do I'll clean up as quietly as I can coz I know theres nothing worse than waking up to an ashtray when you sense of smell comes back really fast as you wake up really slowly. Yes - I feel good about these acts, no - I don't think it takes away from my sincerity or selflessness to feel good about them.

I make sure that I take the opportunity as often as possible! Ironically I don't believe there is a God looking out for us so someone needs to do it. I do things for people/friends/strangers because there are already enough ******** out there so we don't need another. From a young age my grandmother educated me on proper etiquette, manners and the importance of always being gracious and courteous to others at all times. To have an act be truly selfless you can't go bragging about it later. There are two things I can think of off my head that I had done which I guess would be considered huge acts of selflessness. At the time I just did what I saw needed to be done. The first instance was during the evacuation due to a large gas leak in a restaurant I had worked at. It was a large building and we had a room in the basement that the servers used to role silverware into linen napkins. After a head count was completed we realized there were two servers unaccounted for and that they were in all likelyhood in the basement. Luckily I can hold my breath far longer than the average human.. When I was a kid my game to play in the pool was where you would see how long you could hold your breath while submerged. We would also see how many times we could swim the length of the pool without air. I took a few deep breaths then one big one and ran in the building and down the stairs to the basement. When I entered the room I found both missing employees unconscious and lifeless still but still on the chairs. I hoisted one over my shoulder and quickly scooted up the stairs, through the dining room and outside. When I came out a few other helped me carefully put him down on the patio. I big breath and ran back in and down the stairs to get the other server. This one was a girl (so hot) and she was on the floor when I got back. I picked her up (the most selfless act was not copping a free feel when I could have) and brought her up the stairs. Even though she weighed half of the man by this point I was so exhausted from the lack of air I began to stumble before I took the first step through the dining area. I made it about halfway then fell to one knee while luckily not dropping her. Someone saw me through the window and two guys came in and helped us the rest of the way. The other was on my way home from work when I came across a truck that had flipped over and skidded off the road coming to a stop after slamming into a tree. No rescue trucks were there yet so I knew it had just happened. There were a few cars pulled over and some on lookers. I ran over to the truck and saw that someone was inside. The passenger side window was the only way out which had luckily been smashed during the collision. I leaned over the edge and helped pull him out. Once he was out I quickly returned to my truck and left. The next day I saw them talking about the anonymous hero who had saved the driver. I had left because my license was suspended and didn't want to talk to

Is there such a thing as a totally selfless good deed? Even if no one knows about my good deed or I don't get anything in return, I still enjoy the feeling of doing something good - so, I still get something "selfish" out of it somehow.

All the time. I've found wallets and purses on the city bus and I took them straight to the driver without searching through them.
