Im not sure if it counts, but on my birthday i was challenged to go and get as many hugs from strangers as i could in about 5 minutes.
I got about 30(ish), but stopped after 3 minutes, most people seemed very enthusiastic about random hugs, but one girl got very offended by the idea of a stranger asking to hug people. I figured i had stumbled on some personal issue of her's and decided i would be kind and stop at 30(ish).

Not very often, no, but here and there in rare moments when I've felt touched by a complete stranger and the feelings have been mutual and a hug just feels right.
