Have you ever gone to a psychic...?

What is the best reading that you have received? Did you believe what they were telling you? Tell me about your experience (A friend of mine and I are planning on going and I am kind of hesitant.. curious to know about what others think)

I did once. In 1986, when I worked as a welder, on my off days I would do something bizarre or fun that I'd always wanted to do. One of these days I decided to go to a psychic. I had no leanings as to whether they are real or not, but it was only $50 and seemed like fun.. This happened shortly after Shirley MacLaine released her New Age hit book, "Out on a Limb".

I went to the bookstore where I sat with the girl in a room in back. She told me a lot of things that she saw, that the girl I'd marry was blonde, that I'd get a new Toyota (I wanted one, but had no credit to speak of), and that she saw me in the desert. None of this made sense to me at the time, but we chatted afterwords and became good friends.

Later I met a friend of hers who is somewhat renowned now as a famous psychic. She did my reading, also saw me surrounded by sand and desert. She didn't understand it either.

It was a full two years later, I got my first new car, a Toyota Tercel (easily coincidental). The girl I married was blonde (dyed) when we met, but her hair was auburn at the wedding. I joined the army, thinking it was a good time with the Berlin Wall coming down and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, and boom, one year later I was sent to Desert Storm, where I served in the desert for six months.

So, is it real? Were they right? I still don't know, but it makes you think.

A legitimate pyschic would never give me a reading because they would know in advance that I have no intention of paying them.

Psychics can be good at reading people's future but the degree of accuracy varies considerably between them. Equally, there are many charlatans who set themselves up as psychics to make an easy dollar; some of those types actually believe that whatever they say will come to pass and it is very difficult distinguishing between the frauds and the genuine. I have been to a number of psychics throughout my life and while many were imposters there were some whose information was astounding. I myself am psychic and give readings but only to friends and family gratuitously. Frequently I can anticipate the outcome of an event but the information comes to me randomly and mostly I have no control over it. The last psychic reading I had was 10 years ago in Toronto. The accuracy was about 45% but when she (the reader) was accurate, she was spot on! Go along and enjoy the moment but best to say as little as is possible without appearing rude and avoid feeding the reader with information about yourself, situation. or feelings. Write notes after the event and keep for around 10 years. Some readers can forecast the near future while others can forecast events well into the future. Do not dismiss all as frauds as many are genuine.

Anyone who believes that the future cannot be determined is speaking from ignorance and if they have not experienced this phenomenon then they are hardly in the position to competently comment.

I did once, looking to feel better... She was very good at reading my emotional cues and guessing at what the problem was (it was a pretty standard to life problem) and then she told me I had to pay her an extra $500 to expel a blackness that had attached itself to my spirit and would destroy my life forever if I did not undergo her voodoo treatment...
Real psychics don't charge...
It's a gift, but one people don't often want, let alone exploit...

No, I only believe my own visions.

I went and it was an awful experience! I didn't believe a word, because most were accusations against me. Word of advice...don't go with someone who believes every single word.

The one I went to got extremely offended when I asked her for some winning lottery numbers, and then informed me that my children would bring me great enough riches when they reached adulthood. (I don't have kids.) Save your money for a movie or dinner out or something.

I don't trust myself to go; I'd end up doing something similar to redrover, or worse. I don't think I need a psychic to know what would happen next if I did ...

Most psychics are very good at performing an age old parlor trick, nothing more.

yes, I did many years ago and left feeling awful. I felt opened up with no closure. For one thing she said I had a black cloud over my head near the end of the session. what was I supposed to do with that info? she didn't tell me why or what to do about it. I felt very angry about the experience. She said a bunch of negative things. I don't think she liked me. Surely, she could've seen something positive about me or my life!

Honestly, think of all the "psychics" who are in this business. Most of it is BULLSHIT. But I do believe in psychics. I want to go to one, but first I want to find one who is legit and not just a scam. So one day, I will see one.

Yes I have gone on more then one occasion to see a psychic. I was skeptic when I first walked in and so I made sure not too say much. She asked me to ask myself in my own head 3 questions that I wanted answer that day. By the time I left she had answered all three questions without me telling her a word. I was freaked out. She also knew how many kids I had and what their personalities were. She also knew what my husband was going through which freaked me out totally. So I do believe them to a certain extent and I don't let it get over my head either. I find sometimes it gives me some inner peace by speaking to this one psychic I go to.

I had my aunt go to this same physic and she told her there would be 2 deaths in a matter of a month and in fact there was. My uncle died and a month later my grandmother died. So I think it all depends who you go too.

Good luck and have fun with it!

I have been to two psychics. The first one was terrible. The only thing she really got right was that my boyfriend at the time had a receding hairline.
The second one I went to is excellent. My mother and Grandma swear by her. She hit damn near everything right on the nose. My grandfather came through, the message she relayed to me was just what he would say. My friend came through that died of cancer, when she described who it was coming through I nearly cried.

So yes, I believe it was real. Just be careful which one you go to.

Yes - I went to one once, and it was very interesting... Previously I had belonged to a Psychic Research Society for a time, that held Sunday services with clairvoyance afterward. The few messages that I got were from "guides", and were, as I recall, fairly appropriate and correct. So I had a bit of knowledge and experience about psychics in general.

This chap whom I went to advertised in the newspaper, and I decided to go to see him, as I had some questions I wanted to ask, to help determine my future... I was in an esoteric group at the time, and we had been warned not to idly probe our past lives, so I intended that this psychic would reveal only things that would be for my own good. I remember he asked me "What do you want to know about? I am holding open your Book of Life in the Akashic Records, which takes energy to do... so please decide what you want to know". I forget exactly what I asked - one question was about a close friend of mine, and I wanted to know what was our past relationship - and was told that he didn't have permission to answer. Then he recounted a life that I had had as a high priest among the Aztecs - saying that I had had a talent for sculpture ( I had a passionate love of Mayan sculpture), had practiced healing with crystals, which I could take up again (and later I did), and that I had run foul of the powers that be of the day by publicly denouncing the habit they had of making human sacrifices - and of course was made a sacrifice myself... Some of this he might have picked from my mind; but some I had no clues of, and came true later.
He said he wanted two pounds for the reading; I felt that such services should really be free, so I made him a gift of four pounds, explaining why I did so.

Then I married a clairvoyant woman; and my Sweetie and I had many interesting adventures into past lives and other "invisible" departments of life...

I have no doubt that true psychic ability exists; and that many "psychics" have a slight ability which they have learnt to "fill in" when the talent does not work so well for them. So - caveat emptor - "let the buyer beware" - and ASK your spiritual guidance to lead you to the right person for what you NEED to know, to further your life's purpose.
