My experience exactly. I had more luck growing potatoes, although you have to be sure it doesn't get moldy.

Several. The trick is to let it get a good root system established before transplanting it, and using a larger pot to plant it in.

You need to allow it to get really good root system before planting. Add some bone meal to the soil before planting, does wonders!

Don't forget to plant multible tree's, avocado's won't bear unless there are other tree's nearby.

I have tried, but I haven't even been able to get one to sprout.
Do you use toothpicks and a jar with water to get it to sprout, or is there another method.
If I can get one to sprout, maybe I could get it to live after planting...then I could share the information on that part.

Yes that is what I do....it takes a long time to get them to crack and sprout.....I have one right now that has been in water for 2 months and has just started to crack open and sprout.

Maybe that's the thing...I don't wait long enough. And you just keep the bottom wet?
