Black people, seem to believe that if anybody’s working to serve them, there’s something wrong with the person doing the service. therefore no tip :)

You obviously don't need to but it would be nice to have you explain what you mean as this is an International forum. :-)

I don't tip. Usually my parents tip. If, we have good service. If, we have bad service. we don't tip them.

Actually, I was kind of forced into that situation the other day... A friend turned 22, she wanted to go out to a bar, said to meet her there. I get there, there's all her 21yr old friends who more or less stuck me with handle the tab...2 retards didnt even bring any money. Like they give free drinks at the bar? Right. And they didn't understand that you TIP the bartender!! So instead of making an awkward scene, I paid for everything, tipped, and reminded myself not to go drinking with these people ever again lol.

That's like when you split the bill but you only order a $10 meal and the other guy orders a $30 dollar one.

Many times. In Australia, the staff are paid a decent wage, and don't depend heavily on tips, so therefore, if I feel the service has been worthy, I will tip then.

Some people in the US can make a lot of money just in tips depending on where they work and at what time of day. They even have a section in the tax forms to report tips, since most of them are in cash and aren't trackable.

There's only been two times that I've left nothing at all. One was so incredibly rude I'm sure he knew he wasn't getting anything anyways. The other time the b-tch waitress charged the tip on my debit card anyways even though I wrote in zero for gratuity.

Once. I was eating my meal when someone in the kitchen spilled bleach and the smell wafted into the dining area. I am chemically sensitive, so all I could think about was getting out of there as quickly as possible. I felt really bad when I realized I hadn't left a tip for my waiter.

Where I live, the wage a waiter/waitress makes is a good one, so a tip is a reflection of the service you receive. Poor service = no tip, good service = good tip. Any other way doesn't make sense, why would you work hard when you know you're going to get a tip anyway?

Some countries don't tip, which usually means wait staff are paid a living wage - a far preferable situation.

That said, I always leave a 20% tip 'round these parts.

Living wage for being a waiter. Interesting.

Why not? It's certainly more reliable than fickle customers. I don't make less when I have a bad day, why should a waiter? I don't know how tipping got starting the first place, but now it's in such a state where wait staff are paid such lousy wages they go hungry without their tips. It's not a good situation. Unsure about the solution though.

It's like an unwritten rule where I live. I have no idea who makes them.

They have a govt enforced minimum wage of $13.50 an hour, which is deemed enough for someone to live on, so they dont need tips to survive
