One time I lived in Denver near a fire station, down the block. All night long they were roaring out with sirens blasting, trying to wake the dead it seemed.

My ex was a firefighter and we lived on and inside the firestation.

Yes about two hundred yards from where I stayed when young.Too young to think about where or why the sirens would go. The best bits we're the summer open week with different activity and finished with a yard full of foam that all the children played in.
