Haha...I have read many articles. I don't have the 'h' part, but some say it's the new A.D.D. I did read a book (of course haven't finished it, ha ;} called, 'Delivered From Distraction', by Edward M. Hallowell, M.D., and John J. Ratey, M.D. Excellent...I highly recommend.

Personally, I see it as a gift and would never want to change it. As an artist and creative person, it's GOLD!

Did it affect your childhood adversely? Do you take meds for it?

It did not affect my childhood adversely. I believe it enhanced it. To this day I hold many interests in a varied group of subjects. Personally, I love it! Again, I see it as an advantage. In the book I mentioned, the author explains different learning styles. Which, by the way, he suffers from ADD too. He beautifully outlines what makes him successful and teaches the reader these things as well. Typically, what many studies have found, is the child with ADD that has been given the proper tools, is usually a more advanced learner and in many cases holds a much higher IQ. However, sadly, if learning professionals, and parents aren't aware, the child will likely suffer low self-esteem because he doesn't understand his situation and just resigns to say, 'I must not be smart'. Sadly, this is the case with many. I'm very grateful, I was lucky and my learning style only enhanced my mind

No. But I have several people in my family who claim that is their problem. Its awfully funny how they can seem to concentrate on what they WANT to concentrate on and ignore anything that really has to be done.
