Have you ever realized that your parents are real people, aside from being your mom or dad?

If so, when? How old were you? How did it change your relationship with your parent(s)?

Yea, this means ur growin up, and ur growin up in a good way because besides growin up mentally and get more knowlege, ur sense of reality is developing which is good :)

I thought about this when i was young because i read alot about philosophy and nature of human, it was probably Nietzche,
Proved it when i realize they fight because logically one is right and wrong and mathmatically one of em was wrong, therefore they werent perfect, just like everybody else.
And it was just a reminder that they are human not perfect persons, they made bad choices, they have patterns, they have defensive mechanisms, but their human.

The first time I realized that my Dad was anything other than Dad the breadwinner and authority figure, was the day he found out that his younger brother was at end-stage pancreatic cancer. I found him out behind the barn with a fifth of liquor (Dad doesn't drink) crying his eyes out. Hell of an eye-opener.

Probably takes a while for a young person to realise this.
