Yes, but it was safety related and I told them I wouldn't come to work till the problem was fixed.

No, bad for them. It shouldn't take an employee refusing to work before a manager takes the time to go look and see for himself. It was simply a matter of self preservation for me.

I suggested they offer group disability insurance as a benefit. They did.

    Yes.

We use to have weekly meetings every Friday from 9:00-12:00. One week my boss came by and said "time for the meeting" and I told him "I was here until 2:45am this morning, I don't have 3 hours to waste." He insisted I had to go and I insisted I wasn't going. I didn't go.

After lunch the Vice President called me into his office and asked why I wasn't in the meeting. I told him that I felt they were non productive. While they may create some level of unity among the office I simply don't have time to waste, I am stretched too thinly and working over 70 hours this week." He looked at me in a way I interpreted as being pissed off. Then made some talk for a minute and I left his office.

The following Tuesday I received a memo from the Vice President that was circulated throughout the office informing everyone that our Friday staff meetings were cancelled indefinitely because they have not proven to be productive.

I've had others implemented but that was the funniest one. The bastards that sit around talking golf all day forget some of us there actually work.
