How long ago and how far did you get?

I am in the process but find myself stalled by such minor details as I go that I haven't progressed very far. I do plan on finishing it though and trying to get it published. I have a child's book now that I am going to submit. Hope it goes through.

I was developing the plot and characters on my computer, outlining the novel, and then when my computer crashed I kind of gave up. I'm glad I hadn't started it at that point.

I wrote one several years ago (and several shorter novellas since). I'm not sure of the word count, but it got up to about 700 pages single-spaced. I started when I was 15 and it took me six years.

I have almost a full length one done, I think...but I keep going back and rewriting the whole thing...it'll probably be at least a couple of years before I would even think of trying to get it published or even letting anybody read it. I'm just not happy with it yet; the characters are shallow, the plot is cliche...blah, blah, blah. Still I do like some aspects of it, so I'll just keep rewriting till I get it to a point I'm happy with.

Yes. for a while a little over a year ago, & it was going pretty well, as far as developing characters/story lines, etc. The problem is, we moved last January (January '08) & afterwards, I lost nearly everything I had written... both typed & on paper. Because of it, I was never able to get any farther, though I still hope to finish someday.

I tried writing one once but I never finished it. I'd also like to write a children's book, and I'm actually in the process of writing a book about my horrid mother in law living with my hubby and I for 9 years!!!!!
