    I actually did that to a friend of my sister. I had never met him before, but armed with a small amount of information I approached him and claimed to recognize him from high school -- of course I went over to him like "James (not his real name), it's so good to see you again." but I wouldn't tell him my name because of course he should know it. LOL I doubt if he enjoyed the joke as much as I did and I wouldn't be likely to do that now, but when I was a young twenty something it was great fun.
