Have you noticed how cats rarely get stressed?

Is there something we can learn from them?

Ever see two un-neutered males "go at it"? I'm NOT getting a vasectomy to make "nice" with everyone. Like me or shut up!

I have a really relaxed, cuddly cat (who could just about double as a teddy bear), and a really stressy cat who sits up all night and howls, can't stand a closed door, fights all the time, scent marks on everything, lets people pet him and then suddenly runs away as if in fright... you name it! I think that cats are just as likely to get stressed as the rest of us - just some of them are optimists and some of them are pessimists (the same as humans). :)

Cats get stressed just like everything else in life. Nothing can live without stress.

The difference between cats and humans as far as stress goes is: cats don't see stress as a problem to be "solved". They don't attempt to cure it. There is tension, stress, release and relaxation. Humans rarely complete that cycle. Stress isn't the disease. Humanity is.

That's what we can learn. From cats, birds, snails, etc. Stress can be beautiful in its completion.

As a kitty cat fan I say yes. Little kitties are a fun project.

I have quite an old cat, and when she gets stressed she roams around the house meowing looking for us. When I am as old as she is, I hope I don't do that.

Cats just have a more relaxed life style with less expectations towards success and such that we humans toxicate our selves with. They have their own personalities so how they deal with what is in their life is up to them.

There is something we can learn from them. Domesticated cats generally are fed by people, people were once fed by nature and the work to get the food was for the most part relaxing. Maybe there is a lesson in there.
