I've studied philosophy in my senior year of high school but I have not encountered anything such as "the best religion to go by"; only different philosophers' philosophical systems and schools. I personally believe the best religion to go by is any religion which makes sense to you, feel right, and you truly believe in (that is, provided you harm no one by following that particular religion.)

There isn't a 'best' one. I would suggest listening to your own inner voice. There you can find all the guidance you need. The path that is right for you can be found in it's wisdom & not in the words of others. Follow your heart my friend :)

In my humble opinion, Sifu has it correct - the voice you need to be able to listen to is your own Inner Voice of your heart.

It MIGHT help to review various world religions and philosophies; but ALWAYS keep sight of the fact that they are someone else's opinion, and that most organised religions are control structures and businesses. Watch out!

Realise that most of the abovementioned things are BELIEFS - that is to say, they are usually not based on your own experience. Other peoples' beliefs can be erroneous. Your interpretation of your own experiences can be erroneous too; but at least they're yours, and you can change them if you find they don't stand up to practical use.

And above all, Practice What You Believe Is True - you must LIVE your truth for it to be of any use. Doing that, you'll soon find out if it works for you or not. If not, don't be afraid to examine it further.

Best wishes!

I have studied religions and philosophies, and there isn't a single best religion to go by. What is best is to find your own beliefs, outside of a specific religion structured by other people, and follow that. It's always best to find your own path, rather than following another person's.

As mentioned above earlier I would, and have, studied all major religious sects from many different approaches. By all means check with any authorities of these religions and ask for and read their basic texts to experience the words first hand. Research the history of the religion and the era it was developed in and look at what was happening at that time. But as far as picking the best religion, there is no such thing. Before committing to any religion ask yourself if you can believe in something that can't be proven to even exist or do you want to stay in a reality based experience.

"best" is a pretty subjective term. I mean everyone believes their own is best, what kind of person would be like, oh Buddhism is best, but me I'm staying a Hindu. If you believe one religion has merits over others, presumably you would switch to the one you deem best. So logically the question "Which religion do you think is best" and the question "What religion do you subscribe to" are the same.

Perhaps a better question would be "What is your religion and why did you decide it was best?"

While I can do a poor job of living up to my ideals, for me It's Christianity. Why did I decide it was best? At first it was because I just decided I was happier believing in God. But then as I tried to be a better person, I began to realize just how far off the mark I was. Worse, I realized I wasn't ever going to be able to hit the mark without help. And that was when I realized I needed a savior. Because we have all failed and come short of perfection, but we have to keep on trying. And it's lot easier with help:)

You need to find the best fit for you. It may take a day, it may take years. Be open minded and see what feels right.

Philosopy is nice. Catholic is the original Christain church. All others just deleted books of the bible to conform to thinking of the day. Catholics have all the answers laid out for you, and there is consistancy.

Spirituality ....... simply call out to Jesus and pray for real about how you'd like to know if he is there.. the prayer will be answered! God doesnt want you confused, god wants to let you know you are loved. When/if you feel Jesus has answered you and you feel touched just remember to read the scripture for YOURSELF. Watch out for religion. Keep Faith and remember that your relationship with god is between you and god. There is no Best religion, there is just truth. Most religions come from the same base, the question usually ends up the same, Jesus.. ...........so the best way is to pray and use your heart to try to reach god with the name of Jesus. Take it from there :)) much love.

can't really tell you, you really gotta find it yourself, and really want it! keep in mind that many religions can make you feel good and that feeling is blinding because it's only temporary, and if you start questioning it and you see people don't have satisfying answers or tell you you're sinning by asking, run away! and most important, always remember there's only ONE true religion! keep searching, good luck!

Yes, I have studied philosophy from Plato to Descartes to Sartre and Camus. I have also studied many religions. Sifu is correct. You must find the faith that speaks to you. After much seeking, I appreciate Native American beliefs, the beliefs of my Celtic ancestors and Hinduism; but primarily, I'm Buddhist.

I've read but a little. . . ^^

Each person needs to go to the religion that speaks to them, no one religion would or ever will work for us all, each person needs a different thing, and only you can say what that really is.

The best? my religion - The Five Fold Faith of the Butterfly of course! ;P
