Have you tried eating Kangaroo Meat?

What do you think of it?

Would you say it was different to anything else you have eaten?

Yes I eat it, and I really like the taste of it, it is quite a strong flavour. Needs to be cooked properly though. As for hunting wild roo for meat does not quite work like that...and out in the rural areas they are everywhere, eating them is a good way to do something about the huge numbers and keeping them in check.

Yes have tried it a number of times. Has to be eaten medium rare or it gets a bit tough. Very nice with a spicy sauce, mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.

When I was in Wongawonga or was it Bongalonga? it tasted more like venison to me very lean and tasy and much too good to waste in dog food!

Yes - it's not that bad. MystyMadness is right: it's a bit like venison or rabbit. Very lean. I suspect that it would go quite tough if it's overcooked though.

I'm not sure that I'd go out of my way to eat it again though. It probably depends on why the kangaroos are being killed. I definitely wouldn't condone hunting kangaroos just for their meat.
