The only band that we couldn't listen to until my siblings and I turned 18, was Twisted Sister when they released "Stay Hungry". Other than that, they were okay with our choices in music.

Yea my dad was cool with rap but he always shut it down when he felt it promoted gang violence. I was kinda a hoodlum so he was just lookin out for me. I was a kid when all that NWA, Snoop, Dre west coast **** was poppin and he shut those cd's down lol

several of them, and most of them i had never heard of. cant you believe i was told i couldnt listen to mc hammer, and then one day my parents heard his music and liked the mesage
