you stop being spoiled and worry about him and not what sort of engagement gift he can give you.
How about think about what you are saying. Maybe his money is limited. Maybe you could be happy with what he gives you. It is suppose to be two in this not one. The I thing needs to go. Sorry maybe I am wrong in my thinking. I would think you would be happy with what ever ring he gives you.
Tell him in advance.
Dont pay attention to that..whatever he gives u it will b from his heart, that will make the ring special
You already have what you want !
He's marrying you.
The ring is only a symbol or token
You have his love...that's what you want.
My husband picked mine and I never even knew it. He did a fantastic job, I get compliments every day!
if he marries you, isn't that whats important? stop being petty. if you really love him, a ring shouldn't matter in the least.
tell him what you don't like... then tell him what YOU want.
"i saw suchNsuch's ring and it was ---- shaped, i don't think that's very pretty, i think ---- is better."
Wow, what a selfish question!
cut out pictures and leave them in obvious places to give him an idea.
If you are particular you should give him specific guidelines as to what you like and don't like, you will have to wear the ring for a long time!
You could take him to a jeweller and show him your favorite styles, or show him some jewellry catalogues.
I'd consider telling him -
colour of gold and carat you prefer (or platinum or silver)
diamond or gemstone
solitaire or plural stones
cut eg princess, baguette
raised or em<x>bedded stone
guide to size - eg delicate, chunky, big stone, small stones etc
Whether you want it engraved
your ring size
your favorite jewellry shop
Perhaps write it all down for him so he doesn't forget.
I have been engaged 3 times, I chose my ring each time, but I am kind of fussy with rings. I prefer gemstones rather than diamonds, for my current engagement I chose aquamarine which is his birthstone, it had to be ordered from overseas due to rarity, and it is just perfect.
I bought hers at JC Penny's in 1981. It was $90. A woman I work with helped me pick it out. My wife still wears it even though I've offered to replace it with something larger.
I think if you want something specific you should buy it yourself. Or you could draw a picture of the one you want, or else call the store and make sure they only have the one you want in stock.
Hopefully he knows you well enough to know that you would ask this question. Heaven help him if he doesn't.
Just tell him what you like and don't like. You do have to wear it everyday for the rest of your life, so your opinion needs to be heard. But don't get all extravagant, unless he's rich.
Tell him if he gets something you don't like ... all the presents he gets from you for the rest of his life will be ugly neckties.......... He might decide that it is better to get some imput from you.........................smiles
Cruise jewelry storefronts with him to drop subtle hints. Have a friend shop with him.
By proxy....have someone who knows what you want, give him the information.
