I lucid dream often. It'll happen after I've just finished reading a good book. I'll almost always dream about the story if I read just before I sleep (especially if I'm dead tired) and there are times when I am able to change things.

Sometimes it happens when I fall asleep listening to music especially if it's a song I have a deep connection with. Every once in a while when I feel like i'm about to pass out on the computer keyboard I start my favorite playlist on iTunes and drift away. I then dream about flying = )

Ah so thou art one of the marked one's? Pray thee. Did you take any extra steps to help you out or did it just happen out of the blue?

Haha well I don't have a clear formula that'll make it happened whenever I want. Sleeping (and dreaming) are one of my favorite pastimes =p. I've heard about the digital clock trick before and I heard that if you constantly remind yourself that you are awake during the day it helps you realize when you're dreaming. I keep dream journals for a couples weeks at a time just to help me get used to recalling dreams. I'm not sure how much that helps lucid dreaming though. I also daydream much too much for my own good and while I go over the details of the fake conversation my crush and I are having I usually slip into the dream world and end the conversation because now I can fly haha. So in short, no, I don't take any serious extra steps it just happens and I enjoy it.

Close your eyes and visualize a red ball. It's important that you can visualize every detail of it. Once you have it memorized, try to visualize it every night as you fall asleep. Eventually you can bring the ball into your dreams. It helps you recognize that you're dreaming without waking you up. There are other signs too that you're dreaming, such as clocks won't display the time. Digital clocks will display random digits and analog clocks won't have hands.
