..Here we go again...A ban on the Advertising of Alcohol?

Dumb idea. Doesn't your government know that alcohol is one of those products that everyone buys? That it is a major ticket item to contribute sales, helping the economy?

I am a recovering alcoholic, and to be honest advertising did nothing then , nor now. If you have a panchant for booze it will get you through peer pressure rather than some knob on the telly x

ban advertising of alcohol? what about the ads for all those male enhancements? those are pathetic!

well for the marketing/economy no it's probably not a good idea, but some people think that it makes kids want to do it...thats y the US banned ANY smoking advertising. alcohol though we still allow. I don't htink it really matters as long as the commercials aren't aimed at children..i do think thye should only play them later at night though when kids shoudln't be watching tv...i' think that'd help a little. and since were on that...what about the erectile Dysfuntcion commercials?? can't they play those later and not on every channel? maybe just the 'men' channels...i had to evade the question from my 5 yr old step daughter as to what cialis is!!?!?!

I would hate to see a ban on advertising of alcohol because i like to see new things that come out. But there could be regulations on the ads. Maybe just advertising the alcohol and no actors/actresses to make alcohol look sexy and cool to minors. What is the drinking age in Australia just curious?
