I don't believe our sense of humor is genetically inherited but it is learned, and I also think your sense of humor is correlated with your intelligence.

I know I didn't get it from my dad he didn't have much of a sense of humor and my mom's sense of humor was there at times but at the weirdest things. I think I got mine from being curious about things ... never having pre conceived ideas of what might be funny and what might not be.
