Andrewpenny and I would like to know what you are doing killing street children. We cannot understand this behavior. Please explain so we can sleep again!

Brazil is a country with a huge social gap between rich and poor and,
like many third world countries, drug lords end up providing for the very poor while harvesting their young to crime.
This result in children -- homeless and in slums --- that are capable of committing horrible crimes because that's the law of the jungle.
The poor little child begging at your window when you park your car may be carrying a gun or be the enabler of older criminals just waiting to jump at you.
The police are inefficient, their gun power way inferior to drug mafia, underpaid, and corrupt and many times they take the role of vigilantes.
The population is an ever hostage from violence.... From one side the horrible reality of children with dirty angel faces that may kill you, on the other side a police that you can not trust.
I think it is almost impossible for us to understand all the implications of a social problem like theirs.
I feel like everybody is guilty -- the society, the police but at the same time they are also all victims of the situation.


I do know however that there would be many people in this country of ours that would not think for a second in justifying vigilantes against gang delinquents or illegal’s for instance if they felt threatened by them on a daily basis.

A killing is a killing, no matter if our own or somebody else's child.


@skoal..... no. They are known for Government enforced unlawful imprisonments and basement torture of political enemies. Ops. And so are we now, lol.

And by the way, during the late 60s and 1970’s, in the high of anti communism era, the role of US in spreading military dictatorships in Latin America is well documented. Our meddling in Brazil’s affair started in 64 when, with the help and training of US, the new military regime cracked down harshly on labor unions, newspapers and student associations. The newly efficient police, drawing on training provided by the U.S., began routinely torturing political prisoners. It’s the darkest period of Brazil modern history and the CIA fingertips are well over it. Tortured ones even reported English-speaking men in many torture sessions.
Do a serious research if you can handle the truth.

I’m sorry but I just can’t stand when we sit in our high horse of morality because we either do not know our skeletons or we do not care to know about our own sins and mistakes. Actually the second group is worst, the one that believes America is some God-type of entity that should never have their atrocities be questioned because it’s ‘unpatriotic’.
