Resolved Question

Hi, Does anyone know of a way to stop a big unneutered tomcat to stop beating up our male (neutered) cat?

Our small burmese male cat is being constantly chased into our garden by a HUGE black male cat. It is now at the point where everytime our cat is outside a fight will occur and because of this our cat is very afraid to go outside, spending the vast part of his day inside when usually he is out for most of the day.Everytime I see the black cat in our garden I spray it with water, but I cannot think how to make it get the message. We have found it inside our house several times eating at the cat bowl and in the lounge, so I figure it is trying to mark the territory?welcome=t3

Keep your cat inside; outside cats live a tiny fraction of the life of inside cats (2 years vs. 15 years), and outside cats kill songbirds which are going extinct.

That sucks, I had a big black male chasing my neutered male before too.
I don't know what to do, just don't hurt it.

I have had this problem on numerous ocasions. I always use my 16 ga shot gun it will put a cat (or most any thing else) down readily.

A couple of house bricks banged together in just the right place ought to sort it out.

shf84 too bad somebody wouldn't get a shotgun and put you out of your's and everyone else's misery! You hateful ******* bastard!

Keep your cat indoors, but if you must let him out supervise and make sure he is on a leash. Lucyinthesky gave good advice there! Scare the other cat away humanely or let him come inside then phone your local animal shelter to come and get him. Most animal shelters have a "No Kill" policy.
