Hi! What is a viable career option for someone who is easily intrigued, yet easily bored?

There are so many things that intrigue me but nothing seems to keep my attention. If I do have any skills or talents I do not know about them. I don't want to waste my time pursuing a career that I'll end up being completely bored with. It seems this has always been my nature, and I can aver that it is not out of simple laziness. I want to find something that I love to do and I want to do it for the rest of my life. I try and picture myself in different careers but I really don't see myself doing anything for the rest of my life. This is very frustrating. Help!

How about something that represent adventure for you?
What about a paramedic or something medical, I work in the medical field and let me tell you, there's never a dull moment. Things are always changing and you get plenty of opportunity for adrenaline rushes.

Writer would be good, I guess, but only in a limited sense. When it's the 44th day in a row you have to mention how MJ died, you're gonna get a little bored with that.

Project management comes to mind - projects are usually short(ish) - 1 to 12 months, occasionally more, so the task at hand is always changing within the project, and then the whole thing changes (people, location, objectives, etc etc).

I can't think of anything that rewards short-term interest in many different fields so well.

Something which is constantly changing, perhaps travelling as a tour guide or working in a hospital -no two days the same...!

Advertising. You'll have to know a little bit of everything and apply it to the market and clients you're catering to. You'll always have to stay updated on the latest commercial trends. And given the high activity and stress level in the field, you definitely won't be bored.

I'm glad this question was asked for I am the same way. As a result, I am considering getting another degree - this time in philosophy so I can conduct research on any topic I like. If you check out the bios of professors in philosophy you'll see a long list of specialties. They are not restricted to one subject area. I also like the project management idea given by FredTrellis.

Bottom line is you should get a career assessment done. Google "MAPP Assessment for more info. Their manner of assessment if very unique and thorough. I plan on using to further define the best job title for me.
