Home remedies for warts?

Warts are caused by viruses so you have to keep your immune system healthy. The most effective home treatment is those devices that freeze the wart and they're relatively quick and painless.

I know this sounds like a load of BS.

But I have two. I tried pimple remover like Clearsil which worked a treat.

I have also tried the mind over matter idea where I tell the wart to go and oddly enough it worked. (Almost overnight)

I've heard that duct tape will work. If not, try an OTC treatment. If that doesn't work, he might have to see a dermatologist and have it cut out.

Onlinegrandpa is right: warts are caused by a virus - the Human Papillomavirus (or HPV for short). There are over 100 different forms of HPV - only some of which cause warts. HPV is almost always contracted from contact with another person who has active warts on their skin, or similar contact with surfaces that person had touched. Some forms of HPV can also cause cancer (including the Genital Wart virus), but the types that bring on common warts are non-cancerous and offer no long-term health risk. However, once you have an HPV virus with warts, you will generally be susceptible to warts for the rest of your life.

Common warts and Plantar warts can be frozen or burned off (and there are plenty of over-the-counter options for this). But if you want a cheap method, I've heard that duct tape is quite effective.

I've personally had experience with a similar treatment, and found it very effective: I put two plastic bandaids over the wart (the have to be plastic, not fabric, and the have to block over the other one's air holes). I left them on for two weeks (yes, two weeks!), without peeking or changing the bandaids. That was necessary to suffocate the skin and the wart with it. After two weeks, the wart and all the surrounding skin peeled off - but the wart didn't come back!... It's quite gross, but it did actually work - and there was no scarring. :)

I used imagination. I imagine my skin was healthy and perfect. Within 2 months warts were gone.
Including areas on feet where they were since early teen years. No chemicals helped, but just pure imagination did it.

I use to suffer from warts awfully all over my fingers when I was a kid. My Grandma Fern brought over a bunch of vitamin C. After about a year of taking it everyday, all my warts went away, and I haven't ever had a wart since. She said that taking vitamin C on a regular basis cured you of warts.. and she was right. I"m 44 now, and been wart free since I was 12!
