Is it not as pathetic to have a lot of meaningless sex?

Never pathetic...perhaps a little sad for the person not having known intimacy in that manner...but it's never pathetic.

how about 55?
i believe that waiting for the right person to have intercourse with will make the experience 100% more fulfilling. i am 16, and proud to be a virgin!
but if you haven't found ANYONE by the time you're starting to sag...either you're really picky or conceited or just someone that no one wants to sleep with...

It's not pathetic.

Losing your virginity just for the sake of it or because you just want to keep up with others is. What's even worse is having sex for the reasons listed above then not being able to deal with the consequences. THAT's pathetic.

I have to say I deleted my original answer as I was disapointed in myself for answering with an age. First of all being a virgin is not pathetic, it could be by choice or perhaps the person is shy or many reasons. Just as I don't think people should be judged for having a lot of sex they shouldn't be for not having sex.

to be honest..I think it really depends on the person and their character and all that. but if were to humor you,I would say 35-40. from what I know 30 is the age more or less when people's character settles and they are more comfortable with themselves(not all). but I would say if I don't have to put an age to it,it all depends on the person and how they figured themselves and life out.

I dont think it is pathetic at all, it is pathetic that people have sex at such young ages then when people pass that age and havent had sex they think something is wrong with them. It is perfectally normal andi think it shows you have self control and that you just wont give it to anyone. once you start doing it and you are not married you will regret it when you do get married. you will feel bad that you gave yourself away to other people and when you get married your wife or husband just gets whats left. I wouldnt want whats left would you?

Honestly if you are old enough to be a responsible adult you are old enough to give up the virgin status.

To put an age on this would be incredulous.
Everybody matures at a different pace

Sexuality is a gift to be shared with another
Just being a virgin for the sake of being a virgin indicates that person could use some therapy

It would all depend on the reason for the virginity. I it was done for some whacko religious reason I'd call that pathetic all right.

I reckon if they havent experienced it by a certain age it may become an issue and cause anxiety. Don't think it is ever pathetic though.

I had a loving boyfriend at 16 but we reached the stage were we were ready to sleep together as our relationship began to break down. I didn't want a one night stand so ended up waiting until I was 24 to sleep with someone. I had a four year relationship with the guy during which he slept with whoever he could behind my back. I wish i had waited as now I feel something i tried to save for the right reasons has been wasted on someone totally unworthy of it.

I wouldn't say that it's pathetic but I'll be honest:

If I met a man who was aged 30 or over and hadn't grabbed the brass ring, I wouldn't be particularly interested in him beyond friendship. I would see it as an indication of other issues. Most people who are still virgins into their late twenties are not that way for ideological reasons. By that time, you've had serious gf's or bf's and have probably been in love and so people waiting for marriage usually are married or have been married by that point.

That's just my personal opinion. I'm not putting a value judgment on others, just saying I would think it a bit strange.

It's only pathetic when the person gets desperate, and they feel that they must lose their virginity because of their age. There's nothing wrong with someone staying a virgin late into his or her life. It's really the individual's choice... And others shouldn't judge.

20.
when you are out of your teens at the latest, your body is more than ready and your mind should be to, unless you are too afraid.
it is just part of experiencing adulthood and life as a normal human being.

being a virgin, or not being a virgin has nothing to do with being a good person.

Virginity is NOTHING, it wont be there for you forever,(unless you die one).

its just human nature. just like eating drinking and taking a dump.
