say the most beautiful things to you, share a part of himself with you, help you out with a bad situation, then just disapper with out a word to you.... would say stuff like, where ever you go may there be the sent of roses... and we were just friends.....

One of two things could be happening here; 1) he was playing you, or is just a flatterer - some people are. Or 2) he really feels these things and they are scaring him, so he's run away from his feelings.
A lot of men freak when they fall in love - it weakens them to that person, lays bare feelings that can be hurt by you & exposes a heart he's been conditioned to harden, in order to become a 'man'. Look at it from his point of view; you have the power to rip out his heart, to gut him, to crush him with your rejection- whether it be now, or later & a lot of guys can't handle that & choose to run away, often leaving the girl behind feeling hurt, confused and wondering why he put all the effort in in the first place if he was gonna go all flaky on her days or weeks later.
My hubby did this when we first got together - 5 weeks in, he dumps me, no explanation, nothing. He wouldn't speak to me, return my calls or even explain why one minute he's 'falling for me' and the next, he doesn't want to know. naturally, i gave up trying to find out and tried to move on. 3 weeks or so later he phones, wanting to meet me - he had my necklace at his and wanted to give it me back (was his excuse). Within minutes he was asking me to take him back. the reason he gave - and i quote - 'i was falling for you too soon and it was freaking me out - i didn't want you to hurt me, so i finished it. I was stupid.' I'm not saying this is definitely what's going on with you, but it could be, especially if he was as genuine as you say. Good luck! x
