I'd definitely agree with misslucero. Not eating meat is the best way I have heard to be a vegetarian.
I am a non-purchaser. I don't contribute to the meat industry, except that I do occosionally, through accepting gifts, so I guess I'm a part-time hypocrite! XD
Also I buy milk powder sometimes, and the dairy industry is essentially the same thing.

vegetariens don't eat meat. Yu need about 1kg vegetable per meal, some products made from Soyal bean, fordidding drinking milk which are of any any animal, no alcohol.

stop eating meat and start eating veggies...haven't had red meat in a long time,and i never felt better.mostly eat rice,beans,salads,pasta,every no and then fish...

First, do you want to go vegetarian or vegan? Most vegetarians still eat dairy and some even (rarely) eat seafood. True vegans don't eat any animal-based product--no milk, cheese, seafood, eggs, meat.

Either way, you will need to substitute your protein source (soy) and make sure you are getting enough B-12 either through your new diet or supplements. Lack of B-12 is the main health concern for vegetarians.

I have a disorder that causes me to eat a very low protein diet and therefore I am basiacally a vegetarian. (I have been allowed to eat more, as I have gotten older and my weighht increased.) One thing you NEED to keep in mind is that if you really want to consider this way of life, you NEED to talk with a GOOD nutritiomnist about what other changes you will HAVE TO make in your regular daily routine. If you do become a full vegeterain (a Veghan) you will NEED TO take B-6, B-12, and Folic Acid. As for how much, it will depend on your age, weight, etc... but you do NEED to take them or you could very well end up VERY sick! If you want, contact me for more info!

Well!! first off,you've got to stop going to B.B.Q's.Because your beans will keep falling through the Grid. He,He. And if you really want to become a vegetarian,then go for it. It'll help to drive the cost of meat down if more people were vegetarians. Then I could afford to buy that big juicy T-Bone steak,once a week.

Also, start eating pasture eggs. Cheese from someone that has happy cows. Make sure your food is produced humanely.

Okay... seems obvious how to become a vegetarian or vegan, but I have to ask Vegans in particular how on Earth do you get enough protein without too much Boron accumulation in your diet? All the vegetables that provide protein also provide too high a ratio of Boron (generally in the form of Boric acid compounds) to protein to the point it can be dangerously toxic... so... how do you folks get around that? Just curious and maybe somebody on this forum knows.

You must feel that and want that first.
You must have a good motivation - like being more healthy, saving the animals etc.
Then you need to change your diet.
