How can I convince my best friend to dump his sick and bitchy girlfriend?

Usually I'll just come right out and say it to a guy friend, but they never listen.

So, here's the thing. Play it cool, don't let him complain to you when she treats him badly, and eventually he'll dump her himself. If he doesn't, that's his problem. Don't get too involved in this because it could get messy. (Just a heads up because I've been accused of way too many love triangle situations which never happened.)

I think all you can do is be a good friend to him. If he he ask you for your advice, then offer it. A best friend is someone who supports you and is there for you as you walk through life, through the good and bad....

He's an adult, and you need to allow him to make his own mistakes.

Unless she's physically abusing him or cheating on him, as hard as it is to accept, it's really nobody's business but theirs.

You don't have to like her, but if your friend loves her, you do have to tolerate her, until the relationship comes to its natural end.

Your friend is beyond reason because he's blind to the facts. I would just get rid of the ***** girlfriend. Seriously. No, not seriously. Seriously not seriously. Don't do anything illegal. Figure out the *****'s weakness though and use it to manipulate her. And don't call ******* *******. That's misogynistic as ****.

I just got out of one of these situations. Tell him the longer he hangs on, the harder the end and break-up will be. Once a women gains control in a relationship, there is no stopping. He has to move on and show this women that there are others out there that will appreciate him. This will give him confidence, which he does not have. You do not know how much I wish I got rid of my ex long time before she dumped me. She was controlling and treated me like sh** and I took it. Now she left and feel like a doormat with no self-esteem.

Trust me I tryed getting my daughter to dump the losser she was with, but she had to figure it out for herself.

You can't convince him to break up with her.
You could try to tell him straigh up, but chances are, he wont listen.
So your just going to have to let him make his own mistakes, so he can learn from them.

Unfortunately, you can't. This is something your friend has to figure out on their own. Until then, continue to be a good friend, and give them advice and comfort when needed. :)

The next time he complains to you say what bummer. Key word "Empathy" Say what are you going to do about it?
give him options and then at the end say good luck with that. He will start to think for himself.

You can't. Love is one of the strongest emotion on Earth, if not the strongest.

I'm sorry to tell you this but the only thing you can do for your friend is to be there if/when the girlfriend hurt him and/or dump him. Be a friend then, give him support, give him a shoulder to cry on, anything. But right now, don't hurt him by openly hating someone he cares about.
