How can I feel happy and safe WHEN i keep seeing US statistics about gun crime and Japanese say how they have no crime?

1Shooting in the USA often
2 News about kiling in the USA
3 News about gangs and shootings
4 gang crime heavy in usa
5 Tons of grafity meaning gangs meaning possibly they have guns

All the japanese people i chat with or talk in real life, always talk about how it's so scary and violent in the usa with guns. And that they're country is 100% safe and they can walk at night etc. That make me feel bad because i live in a country where i can be easily killed with guns and these people have no crime or gun crime at all. Why do they get to live where there's no gun crime.

Anyways, it hard to feel safe and happy.

Is the USA that bad of a country in terms of gun and gun killings?
And if so, how can i feel safe and happy? Now i'm all scared. I feel i can be shot in any second by some gang drive by or whatever.

i'm male in my 30s

Trust me. I lived in Japan for 11 years. They have a crime rate. They don't like to admit it. They are very sensitive of how the world percevies them as a nation. Their crimes many times are not as horrefic as ours but it's there. They are a nation of the sword not the gun. Just a different way as they are a different people. Did I mention that I can read their newspaper?

Everywhere in the world has good people and bad people. If it's your time to go, it doesn't make a difference where you live.

I don't think your Japanese friends are fully informed. There is plenty of crime in Japan. The latest I'm aware of was a young English lady working there teaching English. She was raped and murdered. No crime, crap!

they also live in **** hole of a country where every move is made by national concenus we live in the most free society in the world and because of that sometimes bad things will happen but we also have more than 300 million people and our crime stats are falling what happened today is an aberration not the norm

What about Japan? They also sell the used panties of 12 year-old girls and knife each other like fiends.

In many countries crime goes unreported unlike the US we hear about every little crime and yes even when a kitten gets stuck in a tree.

I'm pretty sure the Japanese have crime. They also have a high suicide rate. Guns aren't the problem, people are.
