How can i get rid of puddle in back yard? there every time it rains and for days after. near rd no side walk?

Add some dirt and build up the area a bit higher, but sloping away from your house, and then cover it in grass or some other material which will not erode away. It's obviously just a low point in the ground and it's not draining properly. If it's standing water, then a soak hole may not work (as the soil on your property may be quite saturated already).

However, if you can give your back yard enough of a slope to drain the water towards the road, then any rain should just flow away from your house and down the road.

freeed	Posted Jul 6th, 2009 at 11:39PM You could dig down and put in a pipe/ drain combo [called a "French drain" I think, usually installed in your basement] and fill it in, as the others have advised, with sand, gravel, dirt, or something. If you leave it mosquitoes will pester you after they hatch from the standing water. Rated: +1Vote for this!
