Confidence comes from within; it doesn't matter if you buy e-books on the subject, it will come to YOU bringing yourself out of your shell. You have chosen the right words; if you are lacking in confidence, then you need to work at that. Working at it builds you up; think of weight lifters who build up their body-mass here as a metaphor. It's the same thing. The weight lifter has to keep on working out to become bigger … just as you have to keep working out just what it takes for you to gain confidence in yourself.

Try be being just a little more bold and assertive than you are. Which doesn't mean you suddenly become a different person overnight. It means that you push your outward words a little further than you usually do, and in doing so you exercise your ability to be more powerful in how you come over.

What you cannot do is become something you are not overnight. You have it right, as you say it here. Build yourself up bit by bit in being confident with others. It's a skill as much as it is an art, but you have to have your heart in it to do it. Just don't rush things and let it happen slowly and effectively.

Good luck to you
Every morning, before you get out of bed, or the first time you can not be heard by anyone else, just say "I am a confident person". Sooner or later, you will start to believe it, deep down.
