find, figure out, face and fight the underlying causes that made you depressed in the first place.
I take medication prescribed and it works very well, sure there are side effects but next to depression it is tolerable. If it is clinical depression it's the worst kind of pain there is, the world is grey an dark, ugly and dirty, to see no humor in anything, to see everything in the negative, what could be any worse. My mother never felt depression so she didn't understand it. It was hard, Thank you for the question, made me think.

You can't, but you can control it with medication or therapy.
Meds. Ask your doctor about.....to see if it's right for you.
Depression is a sign that you ego is in a battle with your subconscious. Meditation helps to bring balance.
It's better to manage or even treat it than to try and cure it.
