How can you tell your parents you do not want to go to college?

I went to college straight out of high school. It was always expected of me and my brother. I can tell you I had no idea what field I wanted to go into. So, I went, jumped into a field that I stayed unsure about up until graduation. Stupid! I worked in that field and learned that I may have made a mistake. Bottom line, I should taken my time and been more sure rather than worrying about pleasing everyone else. Over 20 years later, I'm looking into going back to school.

Follow your dreams and don't be afraid to take chances. College will help you find a better paying job~but you need to be ready. Through my eyes, it's harder to go back the older you get, and my parents aren't picking up the tab like they did years ago~ Think it through wisely, but it needs to be your decision.

By the way, my brother went for a couple of semesters while skipping half of his classes. He eventually dropped out and hasn't had any regrets. My parents gave him some grief at the time, but eventually they saw that it needed to be his choice.
