Resolved Question

How come it's ok for me to do it, but it really ****** me off when someone else does it?

like making fun of my sister, i can talk about her, hit her, tease her, call her dumb or stupid, are whatever i feel like doing to her, but when someone else does it, i am ready to fight.
b/c the other day my friend was over, and i was talking about my sister like i always do, and she usually just listens, but this time she said that my sister is an annoying retard. Why did i get a attitude? and cuss her out

Becos you get jealous when other people copy your ideas...and steal your lines...Not to mention too many cooks in the kitchen...Anyway,..having a dumb retarded sister would not be easy,..so sorry to hear she's you know...stupid..
Well look on the bright side...At least your dumb sister isn't such a copy-cat plagiarist, critical ***** like your non-original friend:)

because maybe you are starting to realize that maybe she really isn't an annoying retard. but a good, sweet person inside.. even though she may really bug the sh1t out of you and frustrate you. She is still your sister.

you are starting to mature now. good for you.

that's how we are with families. you need your friend to be there to listen. you need to let off a little steam about the family situation without being judged...you're young and learning and it's not easy. but don't fly off the handle all the time. you're going to lose all your friends, hon, and that's no fun.

Me and brothers always fight and pick on each other, but if someone messes with any of us we are ready to throw down and defend each other.

Maybe it's because since she's your sister you feel that you're the only one that has the right to do that, but even if that isn't the case, the words usually have the same effect for the person who's the brunt of them.

Its called overprotectiveness and you feel alright doing it to her because the connection you have between each other is great.

That's pretty common for siblings. It's a feeling of protectiveness and possession. You live with her, you have to deal with her, so you're entitled to tease her and gripe about her.

Because when it comes from the outside, it is an obvious attack. When it comes from you, the attack is not so obvious even though your treatment of your sister is much more damaging than what some outsider might say or do. Love you sis. Don't let anybody water down what your words and actions mean to your sister. You can build her up or tear her down. There is no middle ground. Once again, love your sister...

Ahh my sister bugged the hell out of me when we lived in the same house everything I owned she used as hers and she tattle told and constantly invaded my privacy and still today she nags nags nags...but I totally adore her and would not put up with anyone bad mouthing her. Its natural and your friend was stupid to say it and you were fine letting her know it :D

Because she is your sister. You love her so it is ok for you to joke and say things to her, but let someone else say something about her NOPE that is YOUR sister!

Makes you a great sibling to have :)
