Resolved Question

How could people see the Earth's perfection and think that it's random?

Srsly like how could someone see the sky, or the ocean, even a spoon without seeing more than just random coincidences? I saw the sun come up at work like I do every morning and I can't help but think there is no way something so perfect could be a fluke. sure theres billions of galaxies and trillions of planets out there and maybe we got lucky on earth.

water falls from the sky (its the basic building block of life)

our energy and strength come from the suns rays which shine on us perfectly so we don't freeze or burn alive.

our bodies are perfect machines they are more precise than an atomic clock.

think about this...

break a watch, real expensive one like a rolex, smash it up and see all the gears and parts...now throw it in the air and hope it RANDOMLY falls perfectly into place.

i believe in science, but as the how, not the why. the effects of the cause.

I am not saying you are wrong, but have you ever thought of the possibility that it just seems so perfect because through out the history of life, only the beings capable of living with these conditions survived?

There are natural forces that caused it. Random isn't really the correct term, but it certainly didn't require any guiding intelligence.

Think about it from the other direction-- just for fun.

You think this universe is perfect because you evolved to make the best use of this little part of it-- this earthly environment. If your earliest ancestors couldn't do that, *you* would never have been born to greet that sunset.

Some other creature would be in your place, marveling at the perfection of the frozen methane plumes against the infrared sky and congratulating itself on being the product of an Intelligent maker....

EDIT:
"i believe in science, but as the how, not the why. the effects of the cause."

-by this statement, do you mean: i believe evolution and the big bang theories and such to be true, but do not believe they could have happened without some greater force to cause them?

if so, then i am with you.

evolution is undeniable.
how the universe came to be, is questionable.

You think the earth is perfect??? .. you really need to redefine your definition of that world ...

The earth is gloriously and unpredictably chaotic ...

**** christ, just shoot me.... There is no perfection on earth, nature only goes as far as it has to , the earth is riddled with failures.

Our world and its history are a tapestry of order and chaos. Many beautiful and perfect things can come from such a system without having to be made by some bearded old fool hanging out in the clouds.

The Earth is NOT random, of course.
Read "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" to find out WHY.

They don't see the earth's perfection. Moreover, if it were not random, it would be still very hard to say that it is a creation of God. And even accepting God, people are still disputing uncessantly about His Omniscience. Perhaps, we need a few generations more for human beings to find again the Divine Education of God.
Anyhow, the way back to God is always the way for each individual. Now, he who obeys the One True God, he is near to the One True God; he who obeys his human leader, he is near to that leader; he who obeys something else, he is near to that thing.

Several things

We are creatures of this earth - to us the earth is perfection and glory - if the earth and its life had come into being any other way we would see -that- as perfect.

imperfection is beauty - it is the small flaws - the bits of random chaos that make everything else so beautiful and orderly.

Though evolution works through random mutations it is far from random - there's very specific way in which evolution progresses - not a random force at all.

If you are referring to intelligent design - there is but one question that stops me from believing so - who created God?

oh my
look at the monitor you are looking at, the chair you are sitting on or even a pen or peice of paper, you see what a simple thing the pen or a peice of paper , or anything you look at?
can you believe that no one made them ?
that they are just there by chance ?
or it has no purpose ?

if a simple thing like that was there because someone made it
why such a huge and magnifcent thing as the universe , the planets and stars was there by chance ???

think of it , isn't that logic?

you guys who answer such question don't want to believe that there is god, not because you think god isn't there or there is no proof of it, because you don't want to admit that you are wrong.
