A wise man once said that if you want to get rich you have to find the thing that you love to do the most and then find someone to pay you for it.
So if you love photography this much try to find someone who pays you for work, try to read about people who made it as photographer that’s will help.
    Good luck

I took a chance on something and it worked out really well. Now I have focus on what I want to do. But it all happened because I hated my previous job and couldn't stand my boss anymore.

Try out a lot of different things. make sure you don't have any "what ifs" in the end. If you explore a lot of your interests you may find something that you are so passionate about that you couldn't imagine a day without it.

There has to be things that you feel passionate about, that when you are participating in those activities or one particular one, you're excited and feel full of eagerness. When you find that one thing that you are good at, and can be of service to others, that is what you can call your 'path' in life. Everyone is good at something.

I find myself in the same predicament. The common advice of find something you are skilled at and then do that, hasn't worked well for me. I am starting to think it cannot just be about what you do, but with whom you are with (or without). I have tried many different fields of work from EMT to house cleaner, and what effects my overall enjoyment at work and more is the people I work with. I haven't found my one career or passion yet, but thinking about my people preference is steering me in the right direction.

i started taking pictures when i was about fifteen and never really looked back. i guess i was lucky that i stumbled onto something that i loved when i was quite young. however, i have always been very interested in human behaviour and have often wondered if perhaps i should have gone into psychology or something similar.

anyway, whenever people ask me this question, i usually tell them to write a list of all of the things that they would like to do. include everything, from the mundane, to the practical, to the more "exotic". then, go through your list and start deleting the things that you really don't care for. then the things that would not give you personal satisfaction. you will end up with a list of things that may or may not be immediately achievable.........but have a go and see where they take you.

    best of luck :)

I started out wanting to teach high school, I completed my degree, and did my student teaching, a student brought a gun to school. I was held hostage for 8 hours, I changed my mind. Then I decided I would go into medicine. What a change, I thought I was finished with school. After the student teaching, I did another 12 years. I have found my passion, I was unsure for a long time, with the cost I am glad I enjoy it.

I have found that what you are good at and what your passion is could be two very different things. Also, what you do for a living, may not be what you are best at doing in life. As you said, you like photography, but can't make a living with it where you are now, so you find something you can do to make a living and follow your passion as a hobby.

I have a passion for painting. I'm not good at it, no talent whatsoever, but I love it. I am good at cleaning house. It is what I do for a living. I paint for fun.

My life has never been defined by my work. I work to live. I've travelled throughout a fair portion of the world and had amazing experiences climbing and skiing some of the great mountain ranges on the planet. Never much cared what work I've done to bankroll these experiences.

It works the other way around for me, I choose something to become good at and then develop a passion for it.

Nice way of thinking, although you gotta like what you do. And I would say develop a skill rather than a passion coz passion is a great love for smtg in particular.
