How did you become aware that you are a narcissist?

Well for me it was having sex. Serious after that you gotta look in the mirror and say "Well, damn. Looks like you're the best sex I'm ever gonna get."

I was married to a narcissist for 10 years. Some friends and family, including me, told him he had every characteristic possible. He doesn't understand how other people feel, just how he feels. He likes to be the center of attention, being in a band and starting organizatons and wanting to be in the spotlight. He's intense and gets angry at the smallest things that don't go his way. He doesn't understand how his behaviors affect other people, or how to put himself in other people's shoes. He forgets birthdays and anniversaries, except his of course. He's a real charmer when he meets people, then his self absorbed self starts to show. I'm not saying that he is a bad person. He's intelligent and is a good conversationalist, but it's tough having a relationship with one. He does admit now, that he has narcissistict personality disorder.
