Will power and I kept my mouth busy with sunflower seeds, in the shell.
So many smokers just have an oral fetish or rely on the stress relief they bring, it's a tough fight

Long term addiction, cutting down slowly. I am down to 15 a day now, but it is a long process and I am not done yet but hoping this will cut out the craving process when I stop.

I quit cold turkey. Every time I had the urge to smoke, I would take a piece of tape and roll it in my fingers so the sitcky side was sticking to me. It would take care of my need for stimulation and distract me from needing a smoke then. After 3 days, I knew the physical addiction was over, but you still will have a psychological urge for a long, long time. When you quit, you will wake up in the morning and cough and see smoke coming out of your mouth. That is a real trip!

I'm lucky. I never did smoke. I feel sorry for smokers. I'll never smoke.

    Weed - cold turkey
Cigarettes - I will never quit completely. I've gone down to 1 or 2 a day. every now and then i'll go a whole day or 2 without smoking but I eventually crave one.

Chewed a bit of nicotine gum to get me through the first few days, then just kept reminding myself how gross it is!

    replace them with nicotine gums,
    it should stop your addiction,

another way is to not buy any more, cigarette packs all the time
keep your mind off of them
