Brainyblonde has good advice but I'd like to include a man's point of view.
I start talking about this as I arrive at her driveway. In your case, if he's driving, wait until you're almost home and start telling him that you aren't in love with him anymore. Men are likely to plead for another chance and/or have many questions about what they did wrong. You aren't obligated to answer those questions.
If he's a gentleman, he'll take it like a man and say goodbye and not pester you about it then or later. If you want to, and you think that he can handle it, you can ask him to be your platonic friend. If he can't handle being that close to you without the desire to hold you or make love to you, then I hope that he is man enough to politely refuse your offer.
Oh! Whatever you do, don't tell him that you're in love with another person. He might be the jealous type who will want to get revenge on this other person for "stealing" you away from him. Some women react this way too.
