Well, I have a similar problem with my little brother. He never got anything from his mother but chicken nuggets, sugary cereals, mac n cheese, and pb&j. I always do these cooking "tricks". Where you sneak healthy foods into the child's meal.

I made salmon patties and told them they were chicken nuggets. I would also make meals and tell him that they were "Spongebob's chicken" or "Spiderman's applesauce".

Put food coloring in it if you have to.

Put it in a McDonald's container. Just mark out "cheeseburger" and write "asparagus".

Well....humm.....how about the two of you fix the food together. I believe an 6 year old would love to help you in the kitchen.

Start simple and who knows what will happen.

There are some pretty good kids cook books out there or look on line.

It will be fun for the two of you and oh so much healthier.

Who knows you might have an 6 year old who loves to cook. It is never too early.

Best of luck to you! :-)

Don't let them eat anything else, until they clean thier plate. I had to eat three-day old dinner, before I got lunch when I was a kid. If they get hungry enough, they'll eat it.

start with making her take out food....You know burgers....fries...and things like that.....But when making the burgers....add some shredded veggies into the mix...that way she will be getting them....And the fries...Well make them baked...and try things likes oven fried veggies also.....

Then slowly start having her help out in the kitchen...Make it fun...Have her mix the meat for the burgers.....dessert..>Well there is nothing better than fruit with a dip. ...peanut butter...yogurt...

Don't delay another minute! You need to be stealth about it, but introduce veggies soon! Maybe take her shopping at a farmer's market. Let her watch cartoons with veggie people in it. Remark about how much you love the intense colors in veggies. Talk out loud as you cook them and wonder how you will prepare your veggies tomorrow. You know, brain wash her!

My grandson is 2 and I have the same problem. I fix him his own plate, and we sit down at the table and eat meals together. I do not make him eat, I simply offer what the rest of us are having. He rejects everything at first, but after a while he will usually eat try some things. It's difficult when the parents are not offering any substantial nutrition or whole foods. Good luck.

You include her in the decision making of the meal, and also in the preparation.....there are so many cute recipes for kids....that encourages kids to eat....and including them in the preparation, builds their sense of self-esteem...(when you go on and on telling her how delicious the sandwich/meat/salad/biscuits are....

Maybe you can get her to help choose the food and create the special meals.
