Actually I didn't say they lack imagination altogether. I think cynics are usually very intelligent people. They often see through the obvious - so they have great imagination. But it takes something extra to move beyond it - a new way of looking, a creative response to human nature and powerful forces... It takes more energy to live positively in the face of the real problems, but it's freaking well worth it.
