How do I know if I'm physically unable to swim or I'm just doing something wrong? I literally can't float at all...

i'm 6'2" and 160lbs. I'm probably not too light...maybe it's my technique? I really don't know. I want to float but I just sink...

My husband is roughly the same height and only slightly heavier, he can not swim either, sinks like a rock every time. We were once at a pool and he tried wearing 2 flotations belts and using these buoy's thingies and was still barely keeping his head above water. Which is hilarious to me, because I CAN'T sink.

First, you need to expand your lungs as much as you can. But there people whose muscle density is so high they cannot float. Usually this is with men as women have a higher percentage of body fat. This occurs more with athletes and and fit individuals.

No matter how what fat, how thin the person is, everyone can swim ! Basically, hold your breadth on the water, then you started to float. You should ask the expert.

You are trying TOO hard, mabe go to the side of the pool, hold on yo the edge and practice relaxing and floating, it will come eventually, your weight doesn't make a difference fat people float too. :)
