By covering up anything they wouldn't want someone to touch in public.
what a perfectly succinct statement
I wouldn't expect to "be respected" by dressing a certain way but there ARE ways to dress where you can expect to be disrespected.
Plate mail. A tall pointy hat, indicating status.
By dressing for ourselves, not for other people
Well, like what most people are saying, it is not necessarily what you wear. Rather, your character as a person.
To elaborate, if you look at your self in the mirror and you only focus on trying to look sexy and eye catching for all the guys out there, then the outfits you choose to wear are likely going to reflect that.
On the flip side, if your a woman of good character than chances are you could care less about such vanities as sex appeal. Instead, you might wear that sweater because it was a gift from someone significant in your life, those pants because you support the brand and feel comfortable in them, etc.
In other words, it is not so much the action, but the reasoning behind it.
I am speaking for all women...we dont want your freaking respect. We will wear what we want you can go suck on a dog. OKAY!
Stop asking these freaking questions. Why dont you talk about how men should behave?
It is not about the way you dress, it is about your character. Many people dress really nice but they don't have character either.
I guess it would depend on the woman.
Smart ... not 'Tart' :-)

You get respect by your attitude, not by how you dress.
Whatever they're comfortable in.
